Raúl del Rio
Raúl, who describes his style as ‘Modern Primitive’, originates from the borders of Mexico and Texas. He studied art and painting at the Academia de San Carlos in Mexico City and later attended the School of Visual Arts in New York City, studying graphic design, illustration and photography. His work has been purchased by collectors worldwide and reproduced in magazines, books, greeting cards, calendars and posters. Raúl has also received national and regional awards for illustration, and his work has been commissioned by various leading environmental organisations including Greenpeace and the National Wildlife Federation, as well as by zoos such as The San Francisco Zoological Society and the Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville, Texas.
